News Briefs (1942)

Titles read: “NEWS BRIEFS“. Various locations of events. In Gibraltar we see several shots of Vice Admiral Sir Frederick Collins receiving the keys of the island. He is now Governor of Gibraltar, taking over from General Lord Gort. The Vice Admiral starts a little tour of the Rock’s defences accompanied by foreign military leaders. At an unidentified location, we see Rear Admiral Auboyneau board a ship of the Free French Navy as we hear he is the new Naval Chief, taking over from Admiral Muselier. We see him shaking hands with naval officers and inspecting sailors on deck. In Northern Ireland, we see General Brooke, Chief of the Imperial General Staff, arriving by plane at an airfield. He meets General Hartle, Chief of the American Expeditionary Force and General Franklin, Commander-in-Chief of British Forces in Northern Ireland.
