Ricardo López, aka the björk stalker clay animation

This is one of the only videos I’ve actually looked into I’m gonna do a write up about Ricardo López if your interested to read it Ricardo Lopez (Bjork Stalker) FAQs Answered After Viewing All 18/19 Hours Of Footage How did Lopez feel about Bjork? He thought of her jointly as a demigod and a daughter figure. He wasn’t particularly interested in her sexually. He knew that wouldn’t happen. For him, she was, by far, the most special thing in this world. When she started romancing British DJ Goldie, he couldn’t abide it, because Goldie is black and black people were his least favourite thing in the world. He knew he was wrong to think that about black people and calls himself ignorant, but it’s a feeling he has rather than an opinion. Did Lopez stalk Bjork? Not really. He only leaves his area once during the nine months that the videos were recorded, which was to visit his parents who had become worried about him and convinced him to visit. He was very nervous about the trip. But he did buy them a nice BBQ as a present and proudly wrapped it for them. He had sent Bjork some artwork in 1994 and had joined her fan-club and sent off for her address from a US company that supplied such things, but that’s it really. He only used the internet once that I can recall and that was to look up Joel Amsterdam at the library. What happens when he commits suicide? He posts the acid-spraying-device in the morning and then comes back home. He was nervous and took his gun with him. Once back, he turns the camera on straight away, and thinks. He decides he might as well do it now, or at least at midday in a few hours. He cuts his hair with scissors, shows us a small mohawk and some other different looks, and then shaves his head and eyebrows and paints his face. He puts on Bjork’s Venus as a Boy single which has I Remember You as its B-side. He sits on his wooden chair in front of his grotty mattress that he sleeps on during the night and props up against the wall during the day (these are reversed though as he’s nocturnal). He gets up a few times to check the camera is rolling and then switches the track to I Remember You. He says how nervous he is, and he looks it. During the song, tears stream from his eyes and he looks around the room, taking it all in one last time. He hyperventilates; taking deep breaths and oxygenating his blood. He might be having a panic attack. When the song finally ends, he takes a quick look at something opposite him to his left (a picture on the wall?), looks at the camera, and yells “Victory!“ as he puts the gun in his mouth, then shoots it. The bullet travels straight upwards and causes a bump to appear on the top of his head. It doesn’t exit. He immediately gurgles/groans and falls off his chair. The gurgle/groan might have been the air being forced out by his now paralysed lungs through his bloody throat, or a groan of pain from being alive still. He reportedly lies on the floor, out of shot, labouring to breathe while bleeding to death. I haven’t verified this. I only watched that video twice. twice. Why did he paint his face/look so crazy before shooting himself? He didn’t want someone to find him dead and be too traumatised by it, so he tried to make himself look less like a normal person does. He probably also wanted it to be more memorable for Bjork, even though she might be blinded and therefore unable to see it! What gun did he use? He used a .38 Taurus INT MFB. Serial No. OA153241. Bought in Miami, Florida. Made in Brazil. (He gets the gun here, at 17:30; ) Why didn’t he buy and use a bigger gun? He didn’t want a gun that looked too intimidating. What ammunition did he use? Winchester .38 specials. Hollow points. He shows these after he shows the gun in the afore-mentioned video. “These’ll shred into pieces once it enters someone’s skull.“ Hollow points decrease penetration and disrupt more tissue. This is probably the reason for the bullet not exiting his skull. Why did he film his suicide? He filmed both his suicide and about 19 hours worth of footage beforehand, mainly for Bjork to see, but also the FBI too. He started filming mainly to document the construction of his HIV (later, acid) device and express his feelings rather than putting them into his diary, which he had kept for some time. He didn’t really expect anyone else to see his videos. Youtube was still ten years off and the internet wasn’t up to much in 1996. Online videos were definitely not a thing. Why didn’t he aim for the correct part of the brain for an instant death? He just assumed his head would explode and splatter all over the artwork he placed behind him. Also, this was 1996 and he was a 21-year-old kid. Information wasn’t as readily available as it is now. You couldn’t google a specific thing and get the exact answer. You came across a lot of information by pure chance. Had to make this shorter but credit to wulfruna on Reddit for writing
