Chronicle of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict Events of October 24-25, 2023

On Tuesday, Palestinian factions launched one of the largest attacks on Israel since the conflict began. The militants targeted Ashkelon, Sderot, and Ashdod, which are close to the Gaza Strip, as well as cities in the center of the country. Hamas militants once again landed on the beach near Kibbutz Zikim and attacked IDF positions near the base of the same name. The fighting in the area continued until late at night, but the Israelis managed to repel the attacks and eliminate four Palestinian radicals. The Israeli Air Force continues to bomb the entire Gaza Strip relentlessly. Unfortunately, the primary victims of these strikes are Palestinian civilians. In a recent strike on a shopping center, 15 people were killed. In the West Bank, Israeli security forces are continuing their mass detentions of local residents. In Jenin, Palestinians ambushed IDF fighters and detonated a landmine along the convoy’s route, resulting in four servicemen being injured. Skirmishes between the Israelis and Hezbollah have been ongoing along the border with Lebanon for several consecutive days. Pro-Iranian formations in Syria continue to fire at Israeli territory, as well as at American targets within range. Over the past two weeks, 14 similar cases of shelling and strikes were recorded in Syria and Iraq. In Syria, the Israeli army attacked the positions of the Syrian Arab Army in the Daraa province, resulting in over 20 casualties. Additionally, Aleppo Airport in the north was targeted and the international terminal was once again rendered inoperable due to an Israeli strike. In Iraq, pro-Iranian forces fired at the American base of Ain al-Assad, resulting in the death of one American serviceman and over 20 injuries.
