Hell is a very dreadful place where it is even hard to receive a drop of water while in the agony of the fire. (Luke 16:24) Jesus said, “If our hand, foot, or eye causes us to sin, it is better to cut it off or pluck it out than to go to hell.” (Mark 9:43) It is because the torment in hell cannot be compared with the pain of cutting off a part of our body. “Where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched in hell.” (Mark 9:48) “Everyone will be salted with fire.” (Mark 9:49) Even though the punishment of hell is extremely painful, we cannot die by ourselves.
