The Far Eastern leopard or Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) is a predatory mammal of the cat family, one of the subspecies of the leopard. It can be found in the area of mountainous coniferous-broadleaved and oak forests of the Far East, in the area of the junction of the borders of three countries - Russia, China and North Korea. Currently, the Far Eastern leopard is on the verge of extinction. It is the rarest of the leopard subspecies and the rarest of all big cats on the planet.
