In this video, Sam takes a look at the new Fender Ed O’Brien, guitarist with Radiohead, signature Stratocaster...
Check it out here:
Surprisingly for such a huge band, the Ed O’Brien Strat is the first ever Radiohead signature model. It’s loosely based on his favourite guitar for live work, a customised Eric Clapton Strat, and features a Fernandes Sutainer pickup which, when combined with effects, allows him to create those beautiful, ethereal soundscapes which are such an essential part of the distinctive Radiohead sound.
Spec-wise, this fantastic guitar features an Alder body, bolt-on Maple neck with a meaty 10/56 “V“ profile, vintage-style tuners and a vintage synchronised tremolo. Alongside the sustainer pickup are a Texas Special single-coil in the middle position and a Seymour Duncan JB Jnr humbucker at the bridge, offering a huge range of tonal possibilities.
