Throwing and Trimming a Bowl From Marbled Black and White Clay!

This video was a quick demo I did for my students showing how simple it is to create marbled clay and throw and trim a marbled bowl as an example for their Pick-A-Passion Final Project. For the Pick-A-Passion, they only have 2-3 classes to complete a project for which they are required to find a tutorial to show them how to learn something new! I sandwich the black between layers of the white, and give it about 6 turns when wedging. I use the small mudtools stainless steel rib to rib off the slip while wet, then when trimming, I just use a trim tool to cut off any of the rest of the slip which might be obscuring the detail of the marbling. I do highly recommend checking out your local ceramic suppliers… mine is Cornell Studio Supply in Dayton (937) 454-0357 They are super helpful if you call t
