Bambu Studio SoftFever fork: An advanced slicer for many 3D printers

My patron Leo told me about the SoftFever fork of Bambu Studio, the open source slicer used by Bambu Labs. This version adds some new slicer settings, support for more 3D printers and in-built calibration test prints. In this video, I show how to download and install, and test it on the X1C, P1P, Rat Rig V-core 3 and Ender 3. These tests show me that the preset profiles offer a solid starting point for many printers. At the moment I’m using SuperSlicer and Bambu Studio to cover my various printers. I will now use SoftFever and Superslicer, with a view to switch to SoftFever if more printers are added and SuperSlicer continues to stagnate. 0:00 Introduction 0:51 Downloading and installation Bambu Studio slicer: Bambu Studio SoftFever fork: 2:39 Vanilla vs SoftFever comparison 4:36 Bambu Lab test print comparison Print in place kaleidocycle by ecoiras: 6:10 3rd party (Rat Rig V-core 3) print comparison Rat Rig v-core 3 build playlist: 9:40 Ender 3 TPU test 11:31 Inbuilt calibration tools 15:49 Conclusion Buy quality and affordable filament from X3D.
