George London Sings “Credo in un Dio Crudel,“ From Verdi’s Otello

Bass George London (1920-1985) was by any reckoning one of the great voices of the 20th century. His musical interests were eclectic, and he made many recordings, including operas, operatic selections, Broadway favorites, and American spirituals. He was quite partial to singing in English, somewhat unusual but very commendable, in the opinion of many. Here is one of his less often heard records, Iago’s great aria “I believe in a Cruel God!,“ from Verdi’s Otello.
