Woodturning - A SOLID Mahogany Desk Fan

Mahogany is a pleasure to work with but when it comes to woodworking and woodturning with such delicate pieces, all you can think to yourself is ‘steady hands’. That was the moto for the entirety of this how to/DIY video. I have to pat myself on the back because I didn’t have a single unplanned crack or break in the wood. To keep it short, it all went perfectly. I have to say that’s the first time hand carving a propeller. Which I had no idea how to approach. So I just started and hoped for the best. Someone will have to show me a proper technique one day. If you decide to do this project and you mount it on a stand with Y arms, you can use plastic washers if your fan won’t sit up straight. I tried making the mahogany washers thick enough so the pressure would pinch the fan and hold it in place. It did okay, but I found that a 1/16” hard plastic washer on each side helped out a lot. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the video! Disclaimer: After decades of wood working
