Beijing slams Japan for trying to reverse post-WWII intl order & changing Taiwan Strait’s status quo

Wang Wenbin: As the host country of the G7 summit, Japan is obsessed with provoking and making bloc confrontation and impairing regional interests. China firmly opposes it. The Japanese side has replayed the same old tune, sparing no effort to vilify neighboring countries, which also serves as a trick to cover up its own attempt to unilaterally change the status quo. International legal documents such as the Potsdam Proclamation and the Cairo Declaration constitute the basis of international law governing the post-war international order, which all make it clear that Taiwan’s return to China is an integral part of the post-World War II international order. However, for some period of time, certain forces in Japan have tried their utmost to beautify the history of aggression, conjure up militarism and reverse the historic verdict of its aggression, and even clamored that ’Any contingency for Taiwan is a contingency for Japan.’ Isn’t this an attempt to change the status quo? Suppose Japan is honest to oppose unilateral change of the status quo, it should unequivocally stop those forces in Japan who seek to turn back the wheel of history, earnestly reflect on its history of militarist aggression, unequivocally reiterate its commitment to the post-World War II international order, and abide by the one-China principle and the spirit of the four political documents signed between China and Japan. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
