The Painted Monasteries of Moldavia | Public Lecture | Part 1 (Lecture)

Last Spring Term, Mrs. Teodora Athanasiou, who graduated from Saint Photios Orthodox Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Theology Degree, a Certificate of Iconology, and a Certificate of Iconography, gave a public lecture at the Seminary entitled, “The Painted Monasteries of Moldavia: Histories and Harmonious Themes.“ Mrs. Athanasiou reviews the history of early Romania—in particular, the Principality of Moldavia—, the erection of the painted Churches and their architectural and iconographical themes, and how these Churches were built to preserve the Orthodox Faith and to teach the Faithful about Christianity. Part 1 is the full lecture by Mrs. Athanasiou, and Part 2 is the question and answer session. Please enjoy! DONATE: SAINT PHOTIOS ORTHODOX THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY (.)
