Dylan Sheffer - Freeride Lives II

Dylan Sheffer grew up watching New World Disorder, Kranked, Collective, and NSX movies, films that featured the most progressive riders and trail builders on the planet. After school on rainy days he’d sit watching classic segments: Simmons’ NWD 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 parts, Claw’s Roam section, the Coastal Crew’s Kranked 8 opus, Boyko’s NWD 8 ender - and images of cedar bridges burnt themselves into his mind’s eye. He rode in his home town, did trips to Whistler and Kamloops, but nothing came close to the imagined thrill of riding those old cedar masterpieces. In 2012 he decided to create a trail like the ones he’d seen, and in 2013 it was finished. We filmed a video on it (Freeride Lives) which people seemed to like. Sheffer didn’t build it in search of money or sponsorships or internet fame, he just built it for fun, for the joy of working with your hands and seeing a vision come to life.
