Michael Knopf Classical Guitar Recital St John’s “Acoustic Cathedral“ Brisbane, Australia 23/07/2023

For the past four years I have presented a series of “reflection recitals“ aiming to soothe and uplift listeners from cares and stress with soothing and rich music performed in the lush ambience of St. John’s Cathedral in Brisbane Australia. The music consists of improvisations and calming pieces chosen from Classical, Jazz, & Bossa repertoires and the music of J.S. Bach often features. At some of these recitals I also play repertoire and originals as concert music and not necessarily of the meditative character, because I have the notion that excellent quality music has the power to take us elsewhere within. This, of itself, reassures us and reaffirms the vital essence of life. This is the first full video of an entire concert, recorded on Sunday July 23 2023. The Program: Leyendas (Asturias) I.
