Bodycam Shows Shootout Between Greenville Co. Deputies And Suspect in Greer, South Carolina

** (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) ** Greer, South Carolina — The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office released body camera video following an officer-involved shooting resulting in the death of a man in Greer. Back on Feb. 18, Deputies attempted to serve William Clayton Blackwell a warrant for second-and third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, incest and child neglect at a home along Gibson Oaks Drive. When they arrived, the Greenville Sheriff’s Office said Blackwell ran behind the home, where Lt. Ryan Flood said at least one deputy observed him armed with a pistol. Video shows him behind the home grabbing what deputies said was a magazine-fed rifle. The body cam video shows him firing that gun as deputies surrounded him. It later shows deputies returning fire, hitting Blackwell. Blackwell was treated on scene and taken to a hospital, where the department said he died from his injuries.
