Throughout the past 5 years the band has grown and expanded to draw from the endless array of influences that are on tap from each of the members. The music draws on influences ranging from ambient style music to harder edged and softer rock with a little bit of everything else added in. The vocals are angelic and at some points so passionate they will force tears from even the most hardened listeners eyes, with lyrics that are meaningful and thought provoking. SHUN spent the first 3 years of their existence honing their skills as a band and as songwriters, taking the necessary time needed to find all the right ingredients to make an original sound that grabs the listener and pulls them into the songs. During this time the band also played endless amounts of shows regionally in the Southeast, building a strong grassroots fan base. In the year 2000 the band approached the Internet with a massive marketing campaign that has helped spread the word about SHUN worldwide. Fans started supporting SHUN from across the U.S., and as far away as Australia, Japan, France, Brazil, and everywhere in between, and all of these people keep spreading the word. In September of 2000, Shun was chosen as featured “Band Of The Month“ on the well known website (Pimp Rock Palace). This drew massive amounts of attention from the record industry and also helped draw even more exposure to thousands of people all across the world. All of the attention convinced the band to release their 7 song EP “Michael In Reign“ independently. Along with the release of the E.P., an international street team was launched and the worldwide exposure has continued to grow. Since the release of “Michael In Reign“, SHUN have spent all of their time touring and playing shows across the U.S. The ““ approach the band has taken towards touring is truly paying off, as the crowds keep growing and the kids keep spreading the word. The music of SHUN has already reached thousands of people all around the world and the future holds even greater things for this band that refuses to sit around and wait, and won’t let anything stand in the way of their music reaching and touching the masses.
