DONNA SUMMER I Feel Love PATRICK COWLEY EXTENDED REMIX

This is a surgically meshed re-post of the two parts of Donna Summer’s epic ’I Feel Love’ as remixed by the late great Patrick Cowley. I uploaded two distinct clips 11 years ago, and the difference in my editing style and choices is quite marked to those I make in 2023. I chronicled Donna’s immense discography for images in the first part of the clip; and used stylised visuals for the second half. Considering it is more than a decade old; looking at this, I am proud of what I mastered within just a few months of being on youtube. Donna Summer’s 1977 smash was remixed a year later by Patrick Cowley but it would not be commercially available for another four years in 1982. The song and its remixes would have several lives beyond Donna’s original success with it in the 1970’s. I have some other Patrick Cowley penned, produced and mixed gems to come in future weeks and months. He sadly died just as he was getting really good! It was late 1982 and from an AIDS related illness. Cowley is considered one of the pioneers of the modern sound of dance music; especially HI NRG and electro pop. This post also marks the 11 years since the passing of Donna Summer. I believe I have gained even more adoration and respect for this amazing performer in these intervening years than I had all those decades ago when she was starting out. Donna had some incredible collaborators, but her voice was unparalleled and her foray into disco made her the Queen of the genre and she was successfully able to reinvent herself musically after it reached saturation and became a dirty word. There is a lot of Donna Summer on my channel as her music has accompanied my life story since being a 10 year old boy. Few singers have endured and continued to hold such significance as this sublime singer does. Long may her music shine.
