A very special week for Zhang Lu 張露. Today. January 21st marked the day she was born in 1932. January 26th , marks the day of her passing in 2009, at the age of 77. Her 1951 “Flowers of Spring (Winter Jasmine)“ 迎春花 must be the quintessential Spring Song With next week being the start of the Chinese New Year, what better upload than one by Chang Loo. Here is a beautiful song from Zhang Lu’s 1969 EP on EMI Regal - ERH 627. China’s Sapphire Voice sounding as lovely as ever. The composer was Suzuki Jun 鈴木 淳 with lyrics by Zhuang Nu 庄奴.
