Hundreds feared dead in Gaza hospital strike

Hundreds of Palestinians are feared dead after an alleged strike on a hospital compound in Gaza City where thousands of civilians were sheltering after fleeing their homes. However, the Israeli military quickly suggested that the damage had been caused by a rocket fired by Palestinian militants. Gaza’s ministry of health said at least 500 people had been killed at the al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital, run by the Anglican church, with the Hamas government describing the attack as a “war crime”.
