Article:
In this video, we’re exploring Precision Boost Overdrive, Precision Boost 2 / XFR, and AutoOC features on the AMD Ryzen 3000 series CPUs. The first half of the video explains the differences between PB2 and PBO, talks about what Precision Boost Overdrive is supposed to do, what features are technically part of (and not part of) PBO, and how the feature is theoretically supposed to be used. The second half talks benchmark data, differences, and about whether it’s “worth it“ to overclock via Precision Boost Overdrive. Testing uses the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X and AMD Ryzen 5 3600, with the MSI X570 Godlike and Gigabyte X570 Master boards used as the primary test platforms.
