A wrapping stitch starter circle for a coiled basket by Ruth Woods

This is a starter circle using a wrapping stitch technique. I am demonstrating it using raffia which is a good fibre to use as it is flexible and strong. Craft School Oz has several on-line workshops that show you have to create coiled baskets, baskets using plant fibre from the garden and coiled baskets using recycled fabrics.
