American Bandstand 1970 – Run Through the Jungle, Creedence Clearwater Revival

Airdate: May 16, 1970 Watching these, I’m always amazed at how quickly and completely music and fashion changed in just a few short years in the 1960’s. 1963 to 1969/70 are 2 different universes. Despite the “changing times” there are flashes of some familiar faces on the dancefloor today including: Don Sanuskar & Pat Dickinson (1:07), Famous Hooks (1:08, by Don), Theodosia Dayton (1:30), Frank Vanderpuil (2:10), along with Carl Ratcher (0:33), Richard & Teresa “Buggy” Escoto (2:14) and Andy Soto & Charlotte Regalado (2:16). As Dick mentions, this is the flipside to “the” CCR’s “Up Around the Bend”, the song being used in the current dance contest. “Up Around the Bend/Run Through the Jungle” are at #9 today and will peak at #4 in June. Come on people now, smile on your brother, when everybody gets together wear a mask and social distance right now. Thank you for watching!
