Desperado - The Petersens (LIVE)

We need to invest in some better life insurance for Katie after watching that outro again.... But seriously, we love the Eagles and this was such a fun song to cover! People often ask how we choose who sings lead on what songs. Normally, it is pretty obvious to us based on the style and who brought the song to the group who should sing lead, but this one was more of a fun process. Ellen brought “Desperado“ to the group with a pretty straightforward arrangement in October of 2021. We got caught up with Christmas music and shows and it went to the back burner until this summer. Ellen already had a few songs in the works so Emmett suggested Katie sing lead, and the arrangement Katie came up with is just stunning. ►Video: That time our Segway skates went viral ►Some familiar faces in the Washington Post ----------------------- ►Tickets for our show in Branson, Missouri: ►Order a Branson Vacation Guide Photo: Another from our Explore Branson photo shoot ----------------------- ►Useful links: YouTube About page Most asked questions Join our Patreon community Subscribe to our channel Sign up to our email list Get It Mama Fan Club Show and tour dates Buy or stream our music ►Social media: Instagram Facebook TikTok @petersenband Twitter Band members Go behind the scenes with @ThePetersenFamily ►This video: Lead vocal: @katiepetersen Harmony vocal & guitar: @mattpetersen4000 Harmony vocal & banjo: @EllenHaygood Harmony vocal & mandolin: @JuliannePetersen Dobro: Emmett Franz Bass: Karen Petersen Key moments: 0:01 guitar 0:55 instruments come in 1:27 dobro 3:59 outro Location: Sycamore Creek Sycamore Creek is known for holding weddings, events, pizza nights, but their annual Fall Roundup might be our favorite! You’ve been out ridin’ fences for so long now Well, you’re a hard one I know that you’ve got your reasons These things that are pleasin’ you Can hurt you somehow Don’t you draw the Queen of Diamonds, boy She’ll beat you if she’s able You know the Queen of Hearts is always your best bet Now, it seems to me some fine things Have been laid upon your table But you only want the ones that you can’t get Desperado, no, no you ain’t gettin’ no younger Your pain and your hunger Well, they’re drivin’ you home And freedom, oh freedom Well, that’s just some people talkin’ Your prison is walking through this world all alone Don’t your feet get cold in the wintertime? The sky won’t snow and the sun won’t shine It’s hard to tell the nighttime from the day You’re losin’ all your highs and lows Ain’t it funny how the feelin’ goes away? Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses? Why don’t you come to your senses? (Desperado) Why don’t you come to your senses? (Desperado) Why don’t you come to your senses? Come down from your fences now and open the gate It may be rainin’ but there’s a rainbow above you You’d better let somebody love you (Let somebody love you) You’d better let somebody love you (Why don’t you let somebody love you?) You’d better let somebody love you Before it’s too late It’s too late It’s too late ►The Petersens: We celebrate American roots music with family values, and perform full time in Branson, Missouri in the USA.
