DIY Hobbit House - Air Dry Clay Tutorial

Sharing DIY Hobbit House video tutorial works with air dry clay - best homemade clay. I use salsa jar, cardboard from packaging box, and aluminium foil to build the house frame and the land contour. In this video, you’ll see that I use thread for the hinges. With this unusual hinges (it’s not the strongest material but easy to make and available in almost every home), you can open and close the door. When I went to Hobbiton, the Lord of the Ring movie set in New Zealand, I saw the door was opened to the inside of the house. But, in this craft project I make the door open to outside. This way, we’ll have enough space to put in 2 or 3 LED Tealight candle inside the jar. Painting is really important here. I really enjoy the painting process making plain white dry clay turns to an enchanted house. I use acrylic paints. Don’t worry about the brand though. Any acrylic paints would be fine. I use mixed painting technique here. You’ll see that I use diluted paints for grass, stone texture and timber planks but then I use solid, thick paints for roof tiles, moss, and bricks at chimney area. Honestly, I love my own creation 😁 I think this is an awesome hobbit hole and I will not give this away to anyone. If you like DIY Hobbit House, and want to make one, watch the whole video.
