White House to allow new wall construction along southern border

The Biden administration has given approval for new border barriers to be constructed along a stretch of the Rio Grande in Texas. President Biden said Thursday that he didn’t want to build the wall, but that his hands were tied by a law Congress passed in 2019. The move comes as migrant crossings along the southern border have surged.
