Nature in my online English classroom for children
🍃Pick up some leaves on the way home for the online English class with Alice! 🍂
It sounds bonkers, but is it really?
Here are some reasons WHY I add nature and seasonal props to my online ESL classroom… Nature props:
1️⃣ Create a more captivating online classroom experience.
2️⃣ Enhance learning by adding a multi-sensory dimension - tactile experiences and connection to real life.
3️⃣ Create culturally relevant lessons with nature themes for practical language skills.
4️⃣ Are also promoted by many educational research (including my own, TE-HE) and they help children relax, and have benefits for ASD and ADHD students as they present hands-on materials we use in class.
So, next time your teacher asks you to pick up branches and leaves, please do it because your teacher is 100% doing a great job in teaching your little ones!
P.S. There’s only one individual lesson spot left in my classroom, but fear not, group lessons will start in 2024 so I’ll spam you with more info then! 😅
