Oldest Photographs of Brooklyn: Coney Island, Luna Park, King’s County, New York [1860’s-1930’s]

Howdy ya’ll. Season’s Greetings! Today we’re going to be looking through the oldest photographs of Brooklyn, New York and the surrounding areas. We will look through images from the 1860’s through the 1930’s with a few more modern images sprinkled in. Many photographs are labeled, while other images found deep in the historical society archives are more mysterious. We will attempt to decipher the current narrative timeline, as we look through the oldest images of Brooklyn, King’s County, Coney Island, the abundance of amusement parks, and all the Old World Style Architecture. We will read through the history of Brooklyn, from the Lenape to the Dutch, through the British controlling of the land, to the Americanization of New York, all the while contemplating the 150 images, and the possible origins of the architecture and landscape. I thank you so much for joining me today for a deep dive into some amazing and seldom seen photographs. Please share this video, leave your thoughts down below
