+110KG | 1990 | World Weightlifting Championships (Budapest, Hungary)

10th session of World Weightlifting Championships 1990 (Budapest, Hungary). In the 110kg’s category soviet Leonid Taranenko competed the “most lonely“, he easily won the title with 60KG(!) gap. After competition interviews: Gold medalist - Leonid Taranenko (URS, 34 yo.): “This competition wasn’t serious enough to make a third snatch attempt. I surely would make 205, if it would have been necessary. About world records; sadly I willn’t be younger, the chance for it is less with time.“ Silver medalist - Artur Akoyev (URS, 24 yo.): “I became a member of the USSR team because of Kurlovich’s injury. He injured his knee during training, so he wasn’t able to compete at Worlds. I really like the mood and the atmosphere of my first world championship.“ Bronze medalist - Jiri Zubricky (TCH, 26 yo.): “At the Goodwill Games (Seattle) one of my attempt was red lighted by the juries, thats made me really popular in the USA. Here in Budapest wasn’t need that kind of popularity, because a lo of fan came from home to watch me. Moreover, I felt like as I’m competing at homefield.“ /Hungarian dub./ Watch it & enjoy!
