Relaxing traditional Korean shave in the newly remodeled “historic“ 성우이용원 Seongu Barbershop in Seoul, South Korea. Mr. Lee was born and raised in the family home where his grandfather opened Seongu Barbershop in 1927. At that time, Mr. Lee’s grandfather was the second Korean who was given a permit for barbering by the occupying Japanese. It was in the 1960s when Mr. Lee began cutting hair. He learned everything from his dad and worked with him until his dad decided to retire. In the 1960s, Mr. Lee remembers there used to be 4-5 barbers working at the shop. As you’ll see in this video, Seongu Barbershop has had an incredible transformation! Shortly after filming with Mr. Lee in 2019, a severe storm damaged his shop beyond repair.
