Jo Ann Castle plays “Painter’s Rag“ (1959)

Footage courtesy of Chris Pikal (His channel can be found here at: ). Jo Ann Castle was a honky tonk pianist on the Lawrence Welk show, appearing every week between 1959 and 1969. She composed this piece in one week and preformed it on her twentieth birthday. This particular take on the piece is about 2 months after she was hired and originally performed it. The bass isn’t very strong, especially on the A strain but it’s still pretty good.
