When It’s Winter Time In England (1933)

Titles read: “When it’s Winter Time in England - It’s Summer Time in Australia - where brevity is the soul of current feminine swimming styles.“ Australia. Various shots of girls modelling the latest swimsuit and beach pyjama fashions around a swimming pool. The jokey Australian commentator notes the new “scanty straps“ on the costumes. For the “he-man“, we see the latest ’zipper costume’ - a men’s swimming costume where the vest unzips to allow an all-over suntan. The man modelling this for a blonde lady has a little trouble getting the vest over his head! Another man in trunks comes over and flexes his chest muscles (he’s a bit skinny). Two girls show off the very latest swimsuits, made entirely of rubber (they don’t look rubbery or shiny!). One of girl pings her rubber costume against her skin, and appears to tear it in the back. She wanders, clad in a towel, over to a garage / petrol station and looks at a sign reading ’Vulcanizing Done Here’. She goes inside, followed by the owner as comm
