Russian IL-76 Aircraft Carrying Ukrainian PoWs Crashes In Belgorod, Lawmakers Blame Western Missiles

A Russian Ilyushin Il-76 military transport plane crashed on Jan. 24 in the Belgorod region. The crash occurred in the Korochansky district, northeast of the region’s capital, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Telegram. An investigation team and emergency services are working on the site, Gladkov added Andrei Kartapolov, a Russian retired general, said that the plane was shot down by three missiles of types that the West has supplied to Ukraine. The Russian State Duma member did not state the source of his information, but said probe would reveal whether the missiles were Patriots or IRIS-Ts.
