This was on Sunday 2nd July 2023 as the ACE Winches Portsoy Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, celebrated its 30th anniversary. Vocalist Ellie Beaton from Rothienorman in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, was brought up surrounded by traditional music and both Traditional and Bothy Ballads. She enjoys sharing her North-East heritage and love of Doric through songs. She studied at Aberdeen City Music School until 2020, then moved to pursue a career in music in Glasgow, where she has been studying Classical Vocal Studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
