****KUMITE COMBOS PLAYLIST**** ~ FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM: ~ What’s up KARATEFAM! In this video I present, 6 Kumite Combos & Strategies, plus 3 types of kumite footwork to improve your performance. As always, thank you for stopping by :) Leave a like and comment to say hello, let me know what your favorite technique was :) OSS ~ The first technique I show is backward and forward shifting footwork, that is essential for advanced and even basic kumite training. Think of it as your framework and foundation. My motto is always stay light never heavy or flat footed on your feet. So again, the drill is plyometric in nature because you are exerting max force in bursts or short intervals. This will also help you settle down and speed up your reaction. In a fight first get your footing, and establish grounding by engaging in your own footwork. The second kumite drill is stance switching, this helps you avoid any muscular imbalances from overtraining one side. The third drill is simulating reacting to a gyaku zuki so you parry with your rear hand while shifting back and immediately springing forward with kizami zuki or jab to the face. When you jab make sure to keep up your rear hand by your chin so you are not countered to your open side with a cross or mawashi geri or roundhouse kick. These kumite combos, tips, and strategies are useful if you are a wkf competitor or just training at your tradtional martial arts club.
