All about the Soviet PMG series of gas masks/respirators. The PMG series stood for Противогаз Малогабаритный — “Small mask“, there were two masks in the PMG series, the original PMG which took a 40mm filter on the left side and was the influence behind the Metrocop/Civil Protection mask from Half-Life 2 and the PMG-2, an upgraded GP-5 known as the GP-5m that was called the PMG-2 when issued to the military.
