Step with Annette ~ Christmas Special 2023

I can hardly remember a Christmas without hearing the Fairytale of New York, this year’s special is a little more somber than usual ... in memory of Shane McGowan - stepping out with no finer man, lyricist, performer, artist extraordinaire. The step dancers among you may notice some movements from Maria Manikova’s tribute to Seamus Begley, or indeed, students from my last term online will notice some movements from Margaret Wray’s Hurling Boys set dance. For info, my dog Buddy (black lab cross) is lying on an ottoman just beyond the piano during that particular visual - licking his paws - thankfully silent! He also appears in the photo towards the end but black on black is hard to see! Even adding a Christmas hat didn’t help much 🤣 You may like to have a peep at my other Christmas Specials from 2022 (inspired by a piece of sheet music and a chewed up dog toy), 2021 (inspired by Rudolph and Dan Furey) and 2020 (inspired by Dolly Parton)! The Christmas Special tradition began life when I was stranded at home alone due to the pandemic - 🙄 - thankfully I had Buddy to keep me amused! Wishing you a Happy Christmas and a New Year filled with joy. 😊 “May all your dreams come true“ 🎶 Annette x PS. If you would like to join me in dance, I will be teaching both online and in-person again in the New Year. Check my website for updates, or sign up for my monthly newsletter. 😊
