Polish Tango: Adam Aston - Skrwawione serce, 1932

Orkiestra Columbia pod dyr. Henryka Golda, Refren śpiewa Adam Aston - Skrwawione serce, Tango (Fanny Gordon /ębiec), Columbia 1932 (Poland) NOTE: Originally, this passionate tango was made famous in Poland by Stanisława Nowicka, who was called “Polish Marlene Dietrich“ or “Queen of the Polish Tango“ The composer was Fanny Gordon, who was one of the most intriguing artists in prewar Warsaw (see her large bio info at ) The slideshow has been composed, ofcourse, from the photographs of the most beautiful prewar Warsaw - the city annihilated by its enemies: Germans, who destroyed it between 1939-45 and Russians, who waited on the other bank of Vistula River from summer till winter 1944/45, waiting until the last building of the Polish capital city would be burnt down and turned to ashes would be the very fundaments of the city. Also - until the last of the Varsawians will be captured by the Germans and transported to Auschwitz. That crime will not be forgotten as long, as still are bleeding the hearts of my generation - perhaps the last one, that still cares about such old crap like the wisdom of the history, the memory, the tradition, the values...
