Voyna i Mir - The Senny Song

A song that Russian soldiers sing while marching to Austerlitz. I have no idea what it’s called but they mention the word ’senny’ several times, so i’ll call it The Senny Song. From the movie Voyna i Mir: Andrei Bolkonsky. This is the English translation: Hey you senny, Russian senny, new made entrance to my home, Brand new senny, all of maple and of lattice handiwork, Through this senny I will pass, Arm-in-arm with my sweet lass, Here comes a fair maid outside the new made gate, Brand new gate of oak and of lattice handiwork, She would let a falcon out, of her right sleeve he’ll flutter out, Fly on falcon, high and far, Go on flying high and far, Very high and very far, to my dear hometown, To my dear hometown! Apparently, senny means shade.
