The Evolution of the Kelly Doll 1995-2010

Sometimes, known as Shelly, she built an empire as Barbie’s little sister and her accessories and playsets are some of the most sought after collector items today as she was discontinued in 2010. Kelly and all her friends were, of course, adorable! In 1995 Kelly doll helped Mattel make a huge profit in the 90s, grossing $1.5 billion in Barbie total sales in 1995! Of course, popularity of Barbie has gone down hill somewhat since 1995 due to body image and other controversies faced by the doll line. But Kelly is one of the most wholesome additions to the Barbie line and the more I collect her and her playsets the more I hold fond memories of this doll!
