Kurt, the cloned Przewalski’s foal, August 31, 2020

The world’s first successfully cloned Przewalski’s horse was born on August 06, 2020, at the Texas veterinary facility of ViaGen Equine collaborator, Timber Creek Veterinary. Here “Kurt“ is seen cavorting near his domestic surrogate mother. Visit: The foal is a clone of a male Przewalski’s horse, whose cells were cryopreserved in 1980 at the San Diego Zoo Global (SDZG) Frozen Zoo®. This conservation advancement is made possible by a partnership between Revive & Restore, ViaGen Equine, and San Diego Zoo Global. (Video credit: ViaGen Pets & Equine)
