Sequences of Sadness | Dark Melodies Using The Aeolian Scale

Writing dark music is simple with the Aeolian (Natural Minor) scale. With a few chords, some piano and atmospheric beats we can delve deep into dark realms and bring forth melodies that evoke sadness, melancholy and longings for another world. In this lesson we learn how to use the Aeolian (Natural Minor) scale to write melodies all over the fretboard using a variety of techniques that serve to accentuate the sound. The last example is particularly fun and uses a sextuplet rhythm combined with tremolo picking to evoke a Post Black Metal sort of sound. I played an Epiphone SG Pro through an Audient iD4 using Aurora DSP’s Rhino VST preset *Ambient Lead* in REAPER. ⚡ Subscribe to My Newsletter: ============================= Support the Channel ============================= ⚡ Patreon: ⚡ My Courses: ⚡ Buy Me a Coffee:
