Shawarma is the Middle Eastern version of one my favorite foods Doner Kebab and often involves sauces and lots of ingredients. Chicken shawarma can be amazing or very disappointing if you ever try it in some shawarma restaurants after a night out.
After having really below average experiences, I’ve finally decided to make this popular street food at home, with minimum effort and great flavors!

Ingredients:
• 500 g chicken thighs, de-boned and cleaned
• 1/2 cup yogurt
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp tomato paste
• 2 tbsp lemon juice
• 1 tbsp vinegar
• 3 garlic cloves (minced)
• 2 tsp smoked paprika powder
• 1 tsp chili flakes
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1 tsp cumin
• 1 tsp coriander powder
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp ginger powder
• 1 tsp allspice
• 1 tsp turmeric
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
• ½ tsp cardamom
• 2 tsp salt
• Lebanese pita or lavash for the wrap
• Garlic sauce
• Chili sauce
• Tomatoes and pickled cucumbers to garnish
