The Police - Tea in the Sahara (FYYC’s Extended Remix & Special Video)

In this remix version, almost 4 times longer than the original, I have given a lot of space to Andy’s beautiful guitar playing, which wasn’t present on the 1983 studio recording. Since (almost) all the instruments are played by Sting, Stewart and Andy, you could say it’s a version The Police could have recorded, but never did. Unfortunately in my opinion. But I’m more curious to know what you think of it. So please let me know. I tried to match the video with the atmosphere and content of the song. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in desert areas myself, so the song always had a special meaning to me. Although the original wasn’t a favorite one. But this remake, in the same slower tempo that Andy and Sting favored after The Police (quote: “we always played it too fast in The Police“), made me love it more than ever before. Especially the guitar gives it a complete new feel. I know by now that Sting sometimes watches my remixes. So come on Sting, appreciate the time and effort put into making this, and comment in a few words. All police nutters around the globe will appreciate it. In the end all this is for a greater cause. So If our protagonist(s) do listen to this: come on guys, and especially mister Sting of course, the years are starting to count seriously, so surprise the world, break the myth about The Police as a closed legend, visit your old friends, and do what lots worldwide don’t expect, but are really waiting for: reshuffle a few of each other’s recent songs, give each other some space, and ready it is: THAT DAMN SIXTH POLICE ALBUM! And by the way, if you listen this on your phone (no - this is not an advertisement): I noticed that my Apple gave a much better bass response than my Samsung, where Sting’s bass-parts often tend to get lost. But that can differ per type you have. And yes, this audio remix version and video collage are copyrighted, so don’t be a copycat. Enjoy!
