There are many tutorials on tying a one handed Munter hitch, but I have not seen any about tying them directly with the carabiner.
I use this primarily for rappelling, and teach it as a useful skill for self-rescue / bail-outs.
With the basic Munter, this does place the brake strand closer to the gate, so care must be taken to avoid running the rope against the gate. For my weight, I find I get sufficient friction by keeping the brake strand directly against the spine, rather than needing to lift it up into the full brake position of the Munter.
Tying the Munter directly on a carabiner with one hand is significantly more difficult with the brake strand natively against the spine side of the carabiner or will require additional sit-back to load (try it!).
A super (monster) Munter is easily formed using this method, and places the brake strand against the spine of the carabiner. The Super Munter minimizes the amout of twist developed in the rope because of the two counter-twistin
