The Art Rising Mazu: An Artificial Coral Reef

The Art Rising teamed up with Rhizome Creative to build this 20 x 15 ft sculpture weighing 4000 pounds. It was deployed into the ocean and became a new habitat for coral. It is a part of a large artificial reef project in the Gulf of Thailand initiated by Eco Koh Tao. She is a symbol for hope and the beginning of rebuilding our connection and care towards Mother Earth. She is surrounded by 36 pyramids which can each hold 90 coral transplants.
