Also, because it is hard for me to think on the spot at times, the modes I was referring to were Dorian (1-2-b3-4-5-6-b7) and Phrygian (1-b2-b3-4-5-b6-b7)and the harmonic minor approach of b6 to natural-7. Those of you who are better-versed at modes (and very specific modes that are extended beyond the typical ones that we learn in school) and scales can assist as well - I am only able to break it up a bit in this area from time to time and will usually default to what I hear. He decided that the folk instrument would fit perfectly into the song, giving it an exciting sound. The performer of the kobyz part is Olzhas Kurmanbek.
