Giant solar waves at the Sun’s surface

Observations from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory show giant waves of solar material traveling at the Sun’s surface. Creating a model of these waves helps scientists understand what’s going on in the Sun’s interior. The sound in the video is generated by shifting the wave frequency into the audible range.
