Real Madrid 1-1 Valencia (4-3 penalties) | HIGHLIGHTS | Spanish Super Cup
Real Madrid have reached the Spanish Super Cup final after defeating Valencia on penalties (4-3) following a 1-1 draw. Karim Benzema opened the scoring with a first-half penalty before Samuel Lino levelled for Valencia shortly after the break. Neither of the two sides found the back of the net after that and forced extra-time and penalties. All four of Carlo Ancelotti’s penalty-takers - Karim Benzema, Luka Modrić, Toni Kroos and Marco Asensio - netted from 12 yards out, while goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois saved José Luis Gayà’s penalty to ensure Real Madrid’s place in this weekend’s final, where they will face FC Barcelona or Real Betis.
