Intro To Volumes | Full Houdini Beginner Course

► Project files : ------------------------------------------------------ Socials: ----------------------------------------------------------- Volumes & Voxels We start by exploring what volumes and voxels are, and how they work in the context of Houdini. Volume VOPS Similar to how we can manipulate points with VOPS, we can use the same techniques for volumes. There are some crucial differences however between regular geometry and volumes and in this series we talk all about it. Distance Volumes Distance volumes (or SDFs) are a different type of volume that measure distance to a surface. This is a very powerful class of volumes that allow us to further control simulations and also create cool organic type of geometry and even animations as well. Velocity Fields One of the main ways to achieve a variety of magical FX is with velocity fields. In this series we talk about what velocity fields are and also create a few velocity fields and use them to drive particles. Downloads In the downloads lesson I’ve included the HIP file where I built all of the examples from the course. If you want to explore this file you can download it. ► Chapters: 00:00:00 - 00:08:52 : Volumes & Voxels 00:08:52 - 00:12:31 : VDB vs Standard Volume 00:12:31 - 00:16:54 : SDF Distance Volume 00:16:54 - 00:25:31 : Volume VOP 00:25:31 - 00:37:39 : Fog Volume VOP examples 00:37:39 - 00:43:56 : Multiple Volumes 00:43:56 - 00:55:18 : Volume Visualization 00:55:18 - 01:02:25 : VOPS with SDF 01:02:25 - 01:07:21 : Working with SDF 01:07:21 - 01:18:44 : SDF VOP Examples 01:18:44 - 01:30:00 : Velocity Field 01:30:00 - 01:38:21 : Velocity Field VOP Examples 01:38:21 - 01:58:28 : Custom Velocity Field 01:58:28 - 02:07:23 : SDF From Particles 02:07:23 - 02:17:10 : Volume Rasterize Attributes
