Ivar Schmutz-Schwaller (born in 1935) was a researcher, componist and music ethnologist (School of Cologne), who spend approximatly one year in Libanon and Syria looking for old syriac music. His recordings are very famous. He was born in Switzerland and spend later his life in Cologne, Germany till his death in 1999.
